FATHER AND DAUGHTER

We are Jordi and Carla. Well, it's Carla speaking to you, and the other one is my father, the person responsible for us being in Montgai (Lleida) today, dedicating ourselves to olive tree cultivation. Two years ago, neither of us expected that a bunch of olive trees he planted to keep himself entertained during retirement would bring me back home. And even less did we expect that they would end up getting me on the tractor, pruning, bottling, harvesting… everything we do today, which almost completes the tree-to-bottle cycle (except for the extraction, which we leave to the best).

Indeed, being on the land is entertaining, but the story doesn’t end here. Anècdota was born with a greater mission: to connect people to the countryside. We make use of what we have to involve you in the primary sector, whether it’s what we harvest from our farms or what our neighbours offer us. We respect each plot, without mixing harvests, and in doing so, we achieve two things: on the one hand, we get the maximum expression of the land; on the other, we offer full traceability.

Beyond the extra virgin quality, what we offer with our estate oils is a way to discover varieties, ripening stages, types of terroir… In short, culture. A culture that we don’t want to remain confined to the rural world.

It comes from centenary trees of native varieties, cared for by the farmers of Lagravera. The estates are located at nearly 700 metres above sea level and are grazed by the sheep of Pla Oví. Their farming goes beyond organic, as they respect the lunar cycles to carry out their tasks in the field.

ESPAI ANÈCDOTA

Espai Anècdota is not just a place to visit our olive trees or taste the oils: it’s a living stage where things happen. We organise tastings and tours, yes, but also parties with Claquera, networking events with the sound of crickets in the background, storytelling afternoons with Mc.Gill, yoga sessions with Linnea, and views of Montsec, and even stand-up comedy performances by comedians from Lleida. We like to say that here, culture and landscape go hand in hand. And we emphasise that it’s a real field, not a set. We often idealise rural life, but here there’s dust, trees in both high-tech and traditional plantations, earth, solitude, and beauty in a - not so - wild state. Moreover, we collaborate with like-minded spaces that share our perspective: Juno House, Casa Pez, Crema Club, Rama Collective… We move between the city and the countryside to bring the oil to where things happen, whether it's at a creative brunch, a mindful tasting, or a performance dinner. We enjoy being with those communities that embrace boldness, change, exploration, and - above all - a joyful spirit.
